Majik Minds treatment programs are designed based on scientific research and wisdom passed down through generations of traditional psychedelic practices. Each treatment program combines the use of psychedelic medicine with therapeutic preparation, processing and integration as well as proper experiential setting. Our treatment programs have the option to be booked as non-directional supported one-on-one experiences or as a group experience with a minimum of 3 individuals.
What is Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy
Psychedelic-assisted therapy refers to the intentional use of a psychedelic, such as psilocybin or ketamine, as a tool to aid in achieving self-awareness and inner healing. Psychedelics are not meant to be used alone without a proper support structure except when being used recreationally.
What is Set?
In its simplest and most direct psychedelic definition, Set refers to one’s mindset to a depth we may not necessarily be used to. Comprehensively, it is meant to represent a deeper understanding of who we are, where we have come from, what our true goals are, what our intentions are - it is meant to be sincerely and deeply introspective. As one of the forming tenets of psychedelic experiences, it can be thought of as forming the foundation for the experience, one that needs to built solidly if we hope to achieve a transformative and healing experience.
What is Setting?
Setting commonly refers to the external environment that we experience a psychedelic in. Your surroundings such as lighting, colours, sounds, furniture can have a direct impact on your psychedelic experience given how it can have indirect effects on our minds and how we “feel."
What is Integration?
You can think of Integration as the roof over your psychedelic house that you just built, representing one of the unifying last steps. So, you have experienced your psychedelic event but now what? This last tenet is meant to help you process and understand what you experienced; to provide you with insight into yourself and your experiences; to answer some of the original questions you had in your “Set” preparation. Take this step away and you are essentially left with a “vivid” dream that will dissipate over time without a chance to provide the impact you planned for.
Who is it for?
Our trained multidisciplinary team will assess each person based on their individual needs and circumstances in order to determine how our program can best help their needs and make recommendations accordingly.
- Allergy to the psychedelic itself (e.g. Ketamine)
- Recent brain injury
- Active suicidal thoughts
- Certain medical conditions that could be deemed “unstable” such as active chest pain or heart disease
- Current use (or abuse) of other recreational substances, unless you are receiving ongoing help to quit
