Our Treatment Programs
Designed based on scientific research and wisdom passed down through generations of traditional psychedelic practices. Each program combines psychedelic medicine with therapeutic preparation, processing and integration, as well as proper experiential setting.
Therapy
What is Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy?
Psychedelic-assisted therapy refers to the intentional use of a psychedelic, such as psilocybin or ketamine, as a tool to aid in achieving self-awareness and inner healing. Psychedelics are not meant to be used alone without a proper support structure except when being used recreationally.
Our treatment programs have the option to be booked as non-directional supported one-on-one experiences or as a group experience with a minimum of 3 individuals.

The Three Tenets
What is Set?
In its simplest and most direct psychedelic definition, Set refers to one’s mindset to a depth we may not necessarily be used to. Comprehensively, it is meant to represent a deeper understanding of who we are, where we have come from, what our true goals are, what our intentions are — it is meant to be sincerely and deeply introspective. As one of the forming tenets of psychedelic experiences, it can be thought of as forming the foundation for the experience, one that needs to be built solidly if we hope to achieve a transformative and healing experience.
What is Setting?
Setting commonly refers to the external environment that we experience a psychedelic in. Your surroundings such as lighting, colours, sounds and furniture can have a direct impact on your psychedelic experience given how it can have indirect effects on our minds and how we “feel.”
What is Integration?
You can think of Integration as the roof over your psychedelic house that you just built, representing one of the unifying last steps. So, you have experienced your psychedelic event but now what? This last tenet is meant to help you process and understand what you experienced; to provide you with insight into yourself and your experiences; to answer some of the original questions you had in your “Set” preparation. Take this step away and you are essentially left with a “vivid” dream that will dissipate over time without a chance to provide the impact you planned for.
Who is it for?
Majik Minds Health’s treatment protocol has been designed to help those suffering from treatment resistant mental health conditions, including depression, generalized anxiety disorder, and trauma.
Who is it not for?
A psychedelic experience can really be enlightening; revealing a part of you that you didn’t know was there or couldn’t explain. However, there are a few circumstances when experiencing a psychedelic may pose a risk and therefore may not be a good idea to pursue:
- Allergy to the psychedelic itself (e.g. Ketamine)
- Recent brain injury
- Active suicidal thoughts
- Certain medical conditions that could be deemed “unstable” such as active chest pain or heart disease
- Current use (or abuse) of other recreational substances, unless you are receiving ongoing help to quit
Our trained multidisciplinary team will assess each person based on their individual needs and circumstances in order to determine how our program can best help and make recommendations accordingly.

Treatment & Packages
Introductory Treatment
- Individualized packages based on your particular needs
- Usually comprised of therapy sessions and at least 2 psychedelic experiences. If you are taking medications, a Pharmacist review may also be advised
- Group sessions are available for psychedelic experiences or treatment packages
What to expect, step by step
An example protocol. Yours is built around your needs, so the number and spacing of sessions may differ.
Preparation — Set
Three therapy sessions of 45–60 minutes before your first psychedelic experience, establishing your intentions, history and goals.
Pharmacist medication review
A pharmacist reviews your medications for interactions and, where needed, recommends a tapering schedule for mental health drugs such as anti-depressants.
Psychedelic sessions
Two ketamine infusions per week for three weeks, in a prepared and supported setting.
Integration between sessions
A 20–30 minute therapy session between each infusion, to process what came up while it is still fresh.
Concluding session
A 45–60 minute therapy session after your final ketamine session, drawing the course of treatment together.
Reviewing what comes next
Your Majik Minds team discusses whether further treatment or maintenance therapy would help.
*Depending on circumstance, your care team may recommend additional introductory preparation and integration sessions.
Between sessions, the Majik app supports your preparation and integration work at home. Common questions about eligibility, coverage and legality are answered in our FAQ, and the clinical evidence behind these protocols is collected in our research library.

The vocabulary used across this site, defined plainly.
The three tenets
- Set
- Set is your mindset going into a psychedelic experience — who you are, where you have come from, and what your intentions are. It is the foundation the experience is built on, and it is prepared deliberately through therapy sessions beforehand.
- Setting
- Setting is the external environment in which a psychedelic experience takes place. Lighting, colour, sound and furnishing all shape how the experience feels, so the room is prepared as carefully as the person.
- Integration
- Integration is the work of making sense of a psychedelic experience afterwards, so that insight turns into lasting change. Without it, the experience tends to fade like a vivid dream rather than producing the impact it was intended to.
Clinical terms
- Psychedelic-assisted therapy
- Psychedelic-assisted therapy is the intentional use of a psychedelic, such as psilocybin or ketamine, as a tool within a structured course of therapy. The medicine is paired with preparation before the session and integration afterwards, rather than given on its own.
- Treatment-resistant depression
- Treatment-resistant depression is depression that has not responded adequately to at least two separate courses of antidepressant treatment given at an appropriate dose and duration.
- Contraindication
- A contraindication is a specific circumstance — a condition, medication or history — that makes a treatment inadvisable because the risk of harm outweighs the likely benefit.
- Ketamine
- Ketamine is a dissociative anaesthetic that has been used in medicine since the 1960s. At lower doses than those used for anaesthesia it has been studied as a rapid-acting treatment for depression and suicidal thinking, given by intravenous infusion or intramuscular injection.
- Psilocybin
- Psilocybin is the naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain species of mushroom. It has been studied for depression, for anxiety in people with life-threatening illness, and for alcohol and tobacco dependence.
Regulation in Canada
- Special Access Program
- The Special Access Program is a Health Canada route through which a practitioner may request a drug that is not otherwise available for sale in Canada, for a patient with a serious or life-threatening condition when conventional treatments have failed, are unsuitable or are unavailable.
- Dealer's Licence
- A Dealer's Licence is issued by Health Canada under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. It permits the holder to carry out specified activities with a controlled substance — such as cultivation, production and formulation — that would otherwise be prohibited.
